Earl Pacinio scored 18 of his game-high 22 points in the second half to help the T-boyz hold off the Azkals 45-42, and barge into the win column of the Cebu Recreational Basketball Association Season 1 tournament. In the other match, PYFBA outlasted USC Law to gain a share of the lead with the idle Angry Birds with two wins to show in two outings.
The T-boyz surprised the Azkals in the first quarter taking an 11-6 lead but the Azkals rallied in the second period to cut the gap to a hairline at the turn, 18-17. The Azkals took the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter on a balanced offensive. Pacinio then scored 12 of his 22 in the fourth and
made 6 of 7 free throws in the fourth quarter to help T-boyz notch its first win.
In the other match PYFBA quelled every USC Law rally in the fourth quarter to prevail 55-41. John Rellosa 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block while Saballa added 8 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks for PYFBA. Eddu Ybanez chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 block, while Corbita had 9 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals for USC Law.
